Cruddy mood and I hate it.

Have you ever just started your day of in a bad mood and it just got worse from there? Well, that was today for me and I am still in a bad mood, so if anyone is actually reading this, please excuse me while I rant and rave. 1) Why in the world is everything so freaking expensive? I got up this morning and the first thing I did was check my bank balance. BAD way to start of my day. Where did all the money go? Well, I spent it. On what? I have no freaking idea!!!! That just put me in a bad mood from the get go. 2) I told Brian two weeks ago that we had something planned for every weekend for the month of April, so please don't make any plans. My MIL calls and says that it is, and I quote, "killing her" that she can't see Miss K. So, Brian asks me what weekend I want to go. Easter weekend or the weekend before? NEITHER! I told you we have plans the entire month!! Plus, we don't have the extra money to spend on gas to get to Michigan! (Please refer to rant #1.) But, I have to change my plans for Easter weekend and miss my beloved Bunco so that we can trek on up to Michigan. 3) Why must my child scream and holler at me for no reason at all and then will not settle down no matter what I do? Trying to get ready to go to the Zoo....she wakes up from her nap and BOOM...she freaks. HUGE tears falling down her face and blood curling screams and there is nothing I can do to calm her down. So, I try to get her undressed to make sure nothing is wrong there. I take her diaper off and she pees all over my nice clean sheets. Gonna be late for the Zoo! 4) Maybe I am overreacting on this one.... So, I meet some people at the Zoo. We stroll around have a nice walk. One mommy leaves to take her kiddos home for a nap. The rest of us walk some more. Now...during this time, I was not with the group the entire time, so there was plenty of time for them to make plans without me knowing.... So, we are getting ready to leave and one mommy turns to the other and says, "Are you hungry?" Sure. You want to go get something to eat? Sure. Never once did they ever invite me. HELLO? I am standing right here! You know, I was not raised that way at all. I felt that was just downright rude. If you weren't going to include me, couldn't you had done it while I wasn't standing right there in front of you?

Okay...this post is going nowhere good. I need to take a break and veg out for a bit before I blow a gasket or something.

A Letter from Miss K

Believe it or not, I am 8 months old now. And my how I have grown. I went to the doctor on Thursday and I weight a whooping 24 pounds! I am 27 1/2 inches long. My hair is really starting to grow now, but for some reason, people are still always asking Mommy if I am a boy or they call me "fellow". That is even if I am wearing pink clothes! Guess Mommy is going to have to go back to putting a headband back on me. I just don't like to keep it on too long. I still only have 2 teeth and I like to show them off a lot now. I learned to clap this past week and like to do it, but will usually only do it when I see someone else clapping.

Exciting news...Mommy and I are signed up to taking swimming lesssons. I start on the 10th of April. I am really excited. I love getting a bath, so I think that the swimming will be lots of fun too. I am trying to crawl, but I am not there yet. I can get up on all fours and rock back and forth. I can scoot backwards, but not forward yet. I like to roll though! I roll all over the house. Mommy and Daddy don't let me take naps in their bed anymore because they are afraid that I am going to roll right off the bed! I have discovered something neat in my house. We have these little things that run all over the house. Mommy and Daddy call them cats. I like to growl at them. I really would like to play with them, but they don't seem to like me very much. Maxie, our doggie and I have started playing a new game. I will feed her my 'nilla wafer and she will lick my hands clean. It's a fun game, but Mommy doesn't think it's very funny. My favorite toy is my Little Peoples Barn. We went for a playdate to the twin's house and they had gotten one for their 1st birthday. I loved playing with it. So, as soon as Mommy and I got home, she pulled the one out that she had hidden from me in the closet. Daddy and I have lots of fun playing with it in the evenings.

American Idol....Is she for real?

Okay, I will admit it. I've been watching American Idol. I love Taylor Hicks and think he is awesome. I know that he won't win, but I think he is great. So, last night my man Barry was on. I am a Fanilow. I know...call me goofy. I LOVE Copa Cabana. Can't wait to see what he will sing Wendesday night. Now...the reason for my post. Is Kellie Pickler for real or is she pulling a Jessica Simpson and just PLAYING dumb? I couldn't believe all stuff last week about "spiders on her eyes." But Ryan...they aren't real spiders! And then she told him last night that her eyes were better. She is an okay singer, but she should stick to singing and skip the whole interview thing. Last night when Ryan asked her what she has learned this week and she just kind of looked at him all confused. He told her that she could anwser next week. So...who will go tonight? Do you think it will be Chicken Little? I DO!

Playdate

Miss K had a playdate with some kiddos and Mommies from our Nashville Mom's Meetup Group. She pretty much cried the entire time we were there. She has gotten more clingy lately and I don't know what to do. It's killing me. Well...we will be leaving her Saturday night to attend a reception for one of the Bunco girls who got married in December. She will be staying with her MeeMee. We shall see how that goes.

I hope she starts feeling better soon. Her little boyfriend Mr. K is coming in from Alabama for a visit. We've not seen them in quite awhile, so we are really looking forward to that. We are even skipping our Gymboree class to hang out with him! Can't wait!

One of THOSE moments.

If you read Jenni Bowlin's blog, you know that her hubby dropped her beloved camera in a creek. I posted jokingly that sounded like something that would happen to my hubby and maybe I should send him out to take a picture down my the creek. Big joke because I LOVE my Sony. I think what happened next is payback for me even THINKING that!

So, after I finally got a call from Metro telling me that they had a "rash" of car break ins last night and they were too busy to come out and do a report, I jumped in the shower. In the middle of my shower it came to me....I LEFT MY DIGITAL CAMERA ON THE BACKSEAT OF MY TRUCK!! My heart dropped. We bought that camera when we were both working and we couldn't afford to replace it now! At this point I am bawling. I throw on a robe and wrap my hair in a towel and fly downstair and out to the truck. There sitting on the back passenger seat is my beloved camera. Right out in the open. I cried like a baby when I saw it. My little theives must have gotten scared off by something and didn't notice it sitting on the seat all my it's lonesome. No case or anything. It is now safely in it's case waiting for our Playdate tomorrow.

I did get to take Miss K to see Dr. Hottie today. She isn't as sick as I thought she was. I told him I was just grateful she hadn't gotten an ear infection. He laughed and said I would have been in tomorrow anyway because she DOES have an ear infection! CRACKERS! (that's my new "swear" word..Thanks Jennifer!) So, he gives us a different medication to try since she has been on the Amoxicillan recently. This time she got Omnicef. That "wonder" drug cost me $71.77!!! The Amoxicillan costs me $9.73! CRACKERS!!! She is going to be a Million Dollar Baby before the end of the year gets here! Oh well! We are off to see her endocronoligst at Vandy on Thursday. I am really dreading this because I know they are going to have to draw blood and I can't stand to hear my baby cry!!!

Just great....

Nothing like being woken up from a DEAD sleep at 5:20 by your husband telling you to pay close attention and tell him what was in your car that someone wanted to steal. Yep. My car got broken into last night. Mine was one of three that got hit. So, I've been up since 5:20 this morning and I am sick. I think Miss K has bronchitics and I need to get her to the doctor. It is pouring outside, but I can't put my car in the garage because I am a pack rat and have too much CRAP in there. The police still haven't shown up. I did find a mobile glass replacement and they will be here at 9:30 or 10. All three of us are using the same guy, so that works out good. And the stupid thing. They didn't take ANYTHING out of my car. They did go through my console and my glove compartment, but there wasn't anything to take. Oh...there was plenty o' junk in the car. Again with the whole "pack rat" thing. But nothing they were interested in. So, I get to pay $152.92 for the pleasure of having some punk bust the glass out of my window. Brian also got to be the bearer of bad news since he gets up WAY before the chickens do. Nothing like ringing your neighbors doorbell at 5:30 in the morning to give them such wonderful news.

Great...the police just called and said they were too busy to come out and they probably couldn't get finger prints anyway, so they are just going to do a report over the phone. I could have gotten a shower! But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...I was convinced they were going to show up as soon as I got in the shower. Just great.

Sick, sick, sick....

That's what is going on at my house. How about yours? I THOUGHT Miss K was getting better, but she has gotten WORSE. Today she refused to nap. I think all in all, she slept an hour today, but not all at once. Oh, she got up at 6am. She has hardly eaten anything, so that makes me nervous. If she isn't better tomorrow, we will give Dr. Hottie's office a call and see what they have to say. The diaper rash is FINALLY gone, but I am not sure it is gone for good. When Brian was getting her ready for bed tonight, I noticed it looked a little "rashy" again. ARG! What in the world is going on? And, we see the specialist this week. I really hope it turns out to be nothing. I'll update you guys at the end of the week.

This latest picture I took of Miss K with phone, so the quality isn't that great. We were at Target this week looking for me a bathing suit to wear for Miss K's swim class. I spotted these bunny ears in the Dollar Spot and put them on her. She didn't even notice they were there. Well, I took her into the dressing room with me and she sees herself in the mirror and just stares for a long time trying to figure out what in the world was going on. The ears came off like 2 seconds later. But every person in the store that saw her thought she was the CUTEST thing in the world! I have to agree! Also, please note the Little People in each hand. We do not leave the car without those. The giraffe goes EVERYWHERE we go. We went out to dinner tonight and she kept trying to put the 'nilla wafer in his mouth. It was a riot. She would chew on it...put it up to his mouth...chew on it some more...put it up to his mouth. It was too funny. Very smart little girl!

Off to clean out the fridge. Tomorrow is trash day!

Finally...the TEETH!

Miss K has refused to let me take a picture of her teeth. I caught her laughing this evening and snapped a picture. Then I cropped it and zoomed in on the teeth. Now the grandparents will finally be able to see the the teeth. I think she is getting her top two teeth now.

Today was a rough day. I am not a "cry it out"mommy in any way. I just can't do it. Well, that changed today. She was so fussy and didn't want to be held. Didn't want to play in her exersaucer. Didn't want to lay down. Didn't want to play on the floor. I changed her diaper and put her in her bed and she screamed. She screamed for at least 30 minutes. She was so tired, but she didn't want to sleep. So, she screamed and I sat on the sofa and cried. She slept for 3 hours. She woke up in a happy mood. I know she won't remember any of this, but I know that I will. This mommy job is the hardest thing I have ever had to do!

It was cute the first 10 times....not so much now

Okay, my child has learned to blow raspberries. She learned it a long time ago and then apparently forgot she knew how. Three days ago she started it again and hasn't stopped since then! She does it nonstop for 10 minutes at a time. Some stranger leaned down to tell her how cute she was at the store yesterday and she blew a raspberry in his face! I was mortified! We went to Chuck E. Cheese today with one of our mommy groups and we were all sitting on the floor in the toddler area chatting and she started doing it. I snapped a photo of her "mid-berry"!

We are fighting MAJOR separation anxiety. She screams like her toenails are being pulled out. It breaks my heart so bad. We left her this evening with my mom while we went to an HOA meeting. She seemed to do fine, but the minute we got home, she wanted ME to hold her. Not her daddy...MOMMY. And she cried and cried and cried when we put her to bed this tonight. As I type this, she is in bed with her daddy because she was freaking out in her bed. I even pulled the sheets back to make sure there weren't bugs in there stinging her because of the way she was acting.

Well...off to bed. Hope that everyone managed to stay dry tonight!

Cookie Monster!

Oh my. My child loves cookies. 'Nilla Wafers to be exact. I think she even knows what the box looks like because as soon as she sees it, she starts acting all goofy! She loves them. Tonight we let her have two...one for each hand and she rotated sucking on them. She made the biggest mess, but she was getting ready for a bath anyway. The dogs are a LOT more interested in her now that she is eating stuff. We are going to have to start being a lot more cautions about the dogs now. Miss K now has her front two teeth. I tried to get a picture of them, but she wasn't having anything to do with that whole project. She got downright M-A-D. The teeth are cute, but she is using them to chew on my fingers. We had a playdate today at the 'Twins' house. Miss K played with the Little People barn just about the entire time we were there. The twins got it for their birthday, so it is the new version. I knew I had one at the house, so when I got home this evening, I pulled it out of the closet. She loved it. She and Brian sat on the floor and played with it for awhile. She was dropping all the animals down to the bottom of the barn from a hole in the top floor of the barn. It was funny. She would drop them all through and then start all over again. It's a fun toy! My bonus room has turned into a toy room. I am going to have to do some rearranging here soon. We haven't babyproofed our house since Miss K was born, but now that we have a group of kiddos to hang out with, it needs to be done so that I can have playgroup at my house once a month. I don't even know where to start! We also started our walking group this week. We ended up walking at the mall Monday morning because I thought it was a little too chilly to have babies outside. We are walking again on Thursday and it looks like we are headed to the mall again since they are calling for rain.

Miss K is going to be taking swim lessons!!! She starts on the 10th of April. I am excited to see how she reacts to being in a pool. I am not excited that complete strangers get to see me in a swim suit. I am probably going to have to pay for therapy for all of them before it is over with! Oh well! The worst part is...I've got to go and actually find a bathing suit. That means actually trying one on. Oh the horror! I think Target had some "big girl" suits. Better go check it out before they get cleared out! Okay...I am going to finish watching Independance Day and then I am headed to bed. Miss K and I are going to the Zoo with our good friends, the Mangrum's tomorrow. I've already got the camera charging!
